Girl Bar was founded in 1990 by Robin Gans and Sandy Sachs and continues to host fantastic women's parties in West Hollywood on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights as well as numerous lesbian events throughout Southern California and elsewhere around the country. Check the Girl Bar calendar for details about upcoming events and their corresponding locations.
The West Hollywood Girl Bar events take place at the massive Factory and Ultra Suede complex, which adjoin each other at 652 N. La Peer Drive and 661 N. Robertson Boulevard respectively, just south of Santa Monica Boulevard.
Gans and Sachs also operate the chic Murano Restaurant, Bar & Lounge (310-246-9118), at 9010 Melrose Avenue. Here you can nosh on superb contemporary Italian fare, and there are also Girl Bar events held here, such as GirLounge, held at 8 pm on Wednesday nights.
You'll find other Girl Bar events taking place in several other cities around the country, including Chicago at Circuit, in Las Vegas, and in Phoenix. The Las Vegas event used to take place at Krave Nightclub, but as of this writing, Girl Bar was planning to move to a new location. In Phoenix, Girl Bar parties take place at Fate Nightclub, at 995 N. 4th Street.
Girl Bar is also a major promoter during the legendary Dinah Shore Weekend/Palm Springs Women's Week, held in early April 2009.
