The racially diverse and gay-friendly community of South Beach, at the tip of Miami Beach, celebrates one of the world's largest gatherings of African-American and Latin Gay Pride, Miami Beach Bruthaz, in mid-July (July 16 to July 19 in 2009). The four-day event includes a Papi Underwear Fashion Show, a Happy Hour Barbecue, Sunday brunch, a Penthouse party (with great views of the ocean as well as plenty of hot guys), and an array of workshops and opportunities to meet with businesses and organizations relevant to the GLBT black and Hispanic communities.
In 2009, Miami Beach's Royal Palm Hotel, which is set along posh Ocean Drive, will host Bruthaz - just call the hotel (786-276-0100) and request the "Miami Beach Bruthaz" group rate. More details on Bruthaz will be posted here as information becomes available.
Keep in mind that numerous gay bars as well as gay-popular restaurants, hotels, and shops have special events and parties throughout Miami Beach Bruthaz Weekend.
