One of a few Gay Pride celebrations that take place in August (it had been held in September prior to 2009), Savannah Pride continues to develop into a major event, in keeping with the steady growth of the GLBT community in this charming, historic city in coastal Georgia. The official day of celebration is Saturday, August 8, 2009, right in the heart of the city at beautiful Forsyth Park, a new venue this year, which is the 30th anniversary of Savannah Gay Pride.
