The largest city in Tennessee, Memphis is the host of Mid-South Pride, one of the biggest Gay Pride celebrations in the South, which comprises a series of events, including a huge parade and festival. Although Mid-South Pride has taken place in June in past years, last year marked a shift to mid-October (a beautiful time to visit Memphis, incidentally). Mid-South Pride is again expected to take place in mid-October 2014 (stay tuned for the exact date) in the heart of the famed Beale Street District at Robert Church Park.
Further details about Mid-South Gay Pride 2014 in Memphis will be posted here as they become available.
Additionally, plenty of great restaurants, hotels, and shops will be extra busy during this busy time, and catering heavily to LGBT visitors, as will the city's lively gay bars and clubs. Check out our Memphis Gay Guide as well as local gay papers, such as Out & About (which is geared more toward Nashville but does have some statewide coverage), for details. Also take a look at the helpful travel site produced by the city's official tourism organization, the Memphis CVB.
