Side Street Tavern, in the Belmont District

Like the nearby Aalto Lounge, the Side Street Tavern (828 S.E. 34th Ave., at Belmont, 503-236-7999), is just another low-keyed, hipster hangout in Southeast Portland's cool Belmont 'hood that has a diverse following - it's not gay per se, but you'll generally encounter a mix of queer people (whether in terms of fashion, personality, or sexual orientation). Better yet, Side Street serves tasty pub grub (including good pizzas), has board games, and blares fun tunes from the jukebox.
