One of the "all-welcoming" historic B&Bs in Key West's historic Old Town, the beautifully restored Cypress House does have a strong gay and lesbian following and is popular as much for its luxurious rooms (there are 22 units) as for its handy location, a short walk from Duval Street museums, restaurants, and shopping. The inn is at 601 Caroline Street (305-294-6969 or 800-525-2488), and perks include a 40-foot lap pool, a quite substantial breakfast buffet, bikes for rent, and Wi-Fi. Rooms all have refrigerators, plush robes, phones with voicemail, and a nice mix of period antiques and newer pieces; a handful of rooms have kitchenettes. Some accommodations are in the main house, an 1888 Bahamanian-style "conch house", one of the largest in town, while others are in the adjacent William Anthony House. This is a great option if you're seeking a gay-friendly property that captures Key West's historic charm, but you'd rather not stay some place exclusively gay, and don't mind that the grounds, while lovely, aren't clothing-optional (yes, keep that suit on at all times).
