Crabby Dick's Seafood Restaurant and Lounge, Duval Street

Touristy though it is, Crabby Dick's has a great setting, occupying the second floor of an ornate woodframe building at 712 Duval Street (305-294-7229). The open-air balcony of this gay-friendly seafooder is a great perch from which to watch Duval Street's parade of merry-makers stroll by. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, serving such specialties as Maryland crab cakes, deep-fried catfish, fried bay scallops, and quite spicy buffalo wings - it's fairly standard fish fare (other than some token chicken dishes), with an emphasis on fried food. Come more for the ambience than the culinary prowess. A number of appetizers are available at half-price during the 4 to 7 pm happy hour, which also features $1 drafts.
