Tremont Street, one of the main commercial spines of Boston's gay-sensible South End, is loaded with trendy cafes, restaurants, and shops. Posh, right next to the popular restaurant Aquitaine, carries upscale, if somewhat overpriced, home-furnishings and decorative knickknacks. Keep strolling west for a few blocks, on either side of Tremont, and you'll find many more shops, although a few blocks north, on Newbury Street, you'll find more satisfying boutique browsing.
