Fort Lauderdale's popular Stonewall Pride Wilton Manors, which was formerly known as Stonewall Summer Pride, takes place June 21, 2014. The festival is held in the small city of Wilton Manors, which many visitors to Fort Lauderdale know as the bustling hub of Broward County's gay nightlife, retail and dining scene.
The festival takes place on Saturday from noon until 11 pm, with performances (headlined by renowned pop star Sheila E) well into the evening - on three different stages - and a marketplace featuring vendors selling arts, crafts and more, plus food trucks and frozen-drinks tents, and a Kids Zone. The festivities include the Stonewall Summer Pride Twilight Parade, which runs along Wilton drive at on Saturday evening, June 21, at 7 pm.
This year following the parade, organizers have announced an effort to set the Guinness Record for "longest line of dancing drag queens," with at least 150 participants expected to turn out.
