Check out the complete guide to Northampton Gay Bars and Gay-Friendly Restaurants.
Although it's generally a given that just about every bar in the small, progressive Massachusetts city of Northampton is at least somewhat LGBT-friendly, the community has one predominant lesbian and gay bar, Diva's (492 Pleasant St., 413-586-8161). As the main alternative club serving one of the nation's most popular places to live among lesbians, Diva's always draws a substantial number of women, including plenty of students from Northampton's Smith College as well as from the other major schools within a short drive. But the spacious club also draws plenty of gay guys as well as hetero friends from the community. Diva's also hosts a Goth/Industrial party, Haven, held on quarterly. The club has an 18-and-over policy on some evenings; on Saturdays, Diva's is 21-and-up.
