Pronto (608 Washington St., 248-544-7900) has been a lively fixture in the gay-popular Detroit suburb of Royal Oak since the early '90s - it's equal parts video bar, eclectic restaurant, and gourmet market (specializing in retro-fun treats like vintage candy, house-made baked goods, and Michigan-made jams, jellies, and other products). At night, the video bar draws a mostly gay but somewhat mixed crowd - it's an attractive, warmly lighted space, and the best GLBT gathering spot in this bustling community.
