It's just a short drive from downtown Madison, that ever-progressive and infectiously joyous college town and capital city of Wisconsin, to reach one of the Midwest's largest and most popular gay nightlife venues, Club 5 (5 Applegate Court, 608-277-9700), which comprises several venues: there's the main dance club, plus attractive G.Bar lounge (with primarily a lesbian clientele), the cruisy Barracks (think more bears and leather), and a patio that's fun in good weather.
