One of the largest gay resorts in the country, the Flamingo (4601 34th St. S, 727-321-5000) is not only one of the best GLBT lodging options in St. Petersburg, it's a very fun place to party - whether you're a hotel guest or just dropping by to drink cocktails by the pool in the Cabana Bar, mingle in the Video Bar, dance and watch male strippers in the Blu Room, or attend one of the popular gay pool parties, Sunday T-Dances, or after-hours parties. In short, there's nearly always something interesting going on at the Flamingo. The sprawling resort is just off of I-275, about a 7-mile drive south of downtown St. Petersburg, and just a couple of miles north of the Sunshine Skyway bridge.
