Host of most of the sporting events during the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler is Canada's premier ski resort and an increasingly popular destination in summer, too. The well-planned, contemporary village lies in the shadows of Blackcomb and Whistler mountains, which together make up North America's largest ski area. It's home to the thriving Whistler WinterPride gay and lesbian ski week, but GLBT visitors will find a welcoming environment any time of year. A stunning 90-minute drive from Vancouver, Whistler is easily reached by car as well as frequent shuttle service from Vancouver airport. Here's a gallery of Whistler sights.
