Lavender fields near Wapato, in the Yakima Valley's Rattlesnake Hills

In addition to being a perfect climate for vineyards, the Yakima Valley's Rattlesnake Hills are also rife with farms. Here along Parker Heights Road, a bit east of Sagelands Vineyard on the north side of Wapato, you can drive by these fields of lavender. Nearby are acres and acres of cherry orchards, too. Fresh lavender and cherries are popular items at many of the Yakima Valley's farmers markets.
