A few of the smaller-plate items served as Vancouver's stellar Coast seafood restaurant on Alberni Street: that's traditional New England-style clam chowder with Manila clams and double-smoked bacon in the foreground. To the left, there's tangy buttermilk-battered calamari with smoked garlic aioli, and on the right are Coast's unusual fish-and-chips "hand rolls" with tempura halibut and Japanese-seasoned tartare sauce.
