Along with the Club San Diego in Hillcrest, Vulcan Steam & Spa (805 W. Cedar St.) - in Little Italy - is a gay bathhouse. Of the two, this one is generally considered the most popular, its location especially close to downtown hotels and also fairly close to military bases, making it a bit more popular with those crowds than Club San Diego. It's also very much favored by bears, leather guys, and a relatively older crowd. Overall, it's a little dated but basically well-maintained, and the staff is helpful. On one of San Diego's typically warm afternoons, it's well worth spending some time out on the patio.
