Rumours Wine and Art Bar, 12th Avenue South

Hipsters, gays and lesbians, artists, and oenophiles favor Rumours Wine and Art Bar (2304 12th Ave. S, 615-292-9400) a late-night venue for great wine, art exhibits, and tasty food. The original branch is along funky 12th Avenue South (near Las Paletas, Katy K Designs, Mirror, and several other gay-friendly businesses), but there's a newer branch in the equally fab East Nashville 'hood, at 1112 Woodland St., 615-262-5346. Rumours presents a long list of wines by the bottle and by the glass, most in the $30 to $40 range. The kitchen turns out memorable, market-fresh food - gourmet pizzas, dinner salads, and the like. It's a fun place to hang out with friends before heading off elsewhere for dinner, or perhaps before bar-hopping later along Church Street, which isn't too far away.
