Marche, on Main Street, amid East Nashville's bohemia

Stylish yet homey, the Euro-chic market, brunchery, breakfast cafe, coffeehouse, and all-around-food-lovers haven Marche (1000 Main St., 615-262-1111) is a big reason so many of the city's residents are flocking regularly to offbeat East Nashville. Marche serves some of the best coffee in a city already known for it (nearby Bongo Java, a sister of Fido cafe in Hillsboro Village, is no slouch either). There's also artisan cheese plates, smoked-salmon scrambled eggs hash, crepes with chicken and ricotta, chocolate ganache fondue with fruit, and all sort of other savory and sweet delectables. The same owners operate the gay-popular Margot Cafe & Bar, which is just around the corner. Other gay-friendly businesses of note in East Nashville include Lipstick Lounge, Rumours Wine and Art Bar, and Pied Piper Ice Creamery.
