Fast-food in New York City need not mean soggy fries, fatty burgers, and blandness. F & B Gudtfood (269 W. 23rd St., 646-486-4441) has given short-order European-style fast-food a whimsical and tasty makeover. The sleek, fun restaurant near the corner of 8th Avenue and West 23rd Street (right next to Trailer Park) specializes in a number of treats imported from across the pond - Swedish meatballs with lingonberry sauce, beer-battered fish-and-chips, beignets with caramel dipping sauce, truffle fries, and gourmet hot dogs with a wide range of toppings, sweet corn relish, crumbled bacon, sauerkraut, and so on) - veggie dogs are also available. It's delicious snacking at reasonable prices. Other excellent gay-friendly snacking hubs in Chelsea include Tasti D-Lite, Pinkberry, Better Burger NYC, Le Pain Quotidien, and Energy Kitchen.
