Gipsy Nightclub, in the Fruit Loop gay bar district

For years, Gipsy Nightclub (4605 Paradise Rd., 702-666-8661) has been the prime anchor of Las Vegas's cutely nicknamed "Fruit Loop", a quadrant of several gay and lesbian bars and clubs located along Paradise Road just north of the airport and a short walk south of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (the Fruit Loop is two very long blocks east of the Strip's MGM Grand). This is one of the best places to party on weekends (it's open Thursday through Sunday typically, and occasionally on other days) - first-rate drag shows are presented on the club's stage, and there's a good-size dance floor. The crowd is fairly young as Vegas goes, and a mix of women and men. Within a short walk are a few other notable gay bars, Piranha Nightclub & 8 1/2 Lounge, Buffalo, and Freezone.
