The clientele at the Palms Casino resort is a bit hipper, youthful, and more stylish than at many properties on the Strip, and that holds true at the property's swanky
Ghost Bar (
Palms Casino, 4321 W. Flamingo Rd., 702-938-2666), which is perched high on the 55th floor and comprises a slick indoor lounge and a dramatic open-air balcony bar. It's not a gay hangout by any stretch, but among mainstream, see-and-be-see nightclubs in Vegas, it's at least something of a metrosexual, sophisticated spot - depending on the night, anyway. The point really isn't the crowd so much as it is the cool setting.
It's worth coming here with friends to take in the panoramic views of the city, from downtown clear up and down the Strip. Cover charges and drinks cost a bundle, as they do at any of the city's upscale lounges. But it's fun watching the crowd, enjoying the views, and standing on the swath of Plexiglas floor on the balcony - you can see straight down, 55 stories, to the street below.
