A view of old-school Fremont Street, looking east from Las Vegas Boulevard toward Mamacita's Mexican and Cuban restaurant, Don Yeyo Cigar Factory, and the funky old El Cortez Hotel. This marks the eastern boundary of Fremont Street Experience (which is behind the spot from which I took this picture) - an enclosed pedestrian street with a fairly bland selection of bars, restaurants, and shops. This is one part of Vegas that still retains its gritty but interesting circa-mid-20th-century appearance and personality.
