Miami is one of great world capitals for gay circuit parties, with a steady roster of parties held throughout the year. One event that's gained rapidly in popularity each year is Sizzle Miami, a five-day event held over Memorial Day Weekend and catering to gay men of color. Sizzle Miami includes dozens of wild parties - its success has led promoters to bill it "America's most celebrated and anticipated black gay event." The dates this year are Memorial Day Weekend, May 22 to 27, 2014.

Sizzle Miami consists of more than a dozen parties and events, including a "takeover" of gay-popular Haulover Beach, a yacht party, pool parties, a comedy show, brunch, jet-skiing and other watersports, special dinners, and night-time clubbing at Mekka, MOVA Lounge, Club Space, Story Nightclub, Palace South Beach, and other top gay venues around the region. You can view a full schedule of events at the Sizzle Miami website, and purchase both full lodging/events and events packages as well as Sizzle Express Cards - note that prices are significantly cheaper if you purchase in advance. The host hotel of Sizzle Miami this year is downtown's Miami's swanky InterContinental Miami.

New in 2014, the organizers have created a second great weekend taking place to celebrate the end of summer, Sizzle South Beach, taking place Aug. 28 through Sept. 1, 2014. Check the official site, which will post details on events, the host hotel, and event and lodging packages as information is finalized.

Find out more about Miami's dynamic gay scene at sites like SoBeGayInfo.com, Mark's List on South Beach, and SoBeSocialClub.com. There are also two excellent tourism resources on the region: the GLBT Travel Site produced by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau has tons o information on the entire region, while the Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce has a visitor center right in South Beach.
