As with the sister event in Orlando, Gay Days at Anaheim is not an official Disney event - the park remains open to all throughout the weekend, and GLBT attendees typically wear red shirts to indicate their participation. Events over the three days kick off on Friday, and throughout the three-day weekend, you can pick up the latest information on the event by visiting the Gay Days Info Center in the Trillium Room at the Grand California Hotel.

Activities include a cocktail reception, premiere screening of A-List Dallas, and Wonderland dance (benefiting The Trevor Project) on Friday; the official Gay Day at Disneyland throughout Saturday from 8 am until midnight (including a performance by comic Suzanne Westenhoefer at the Grand Californian and a big party at House of Blues Anaheim); numerous parties and gatherings; the Gay Day at Disney's California Adventure throughout Sunday; and plenty of additional events.
