New England's scenic and always festive summer playground Provincetown will be welcoming dozens of LGBT families next week during the 18th Annual Family Week, taking place August 3 through August 10. Although online registration has now closed, organizers have announced that there will be "limited on-site registration" available in town, at an increased price. So if you're able to make it to Provincetown for this great event, show up at the host hotel, the Crown & Anchor (257 Commercial St.) to register.
Throughout the week, activities are offered geared to all age groups, from toddlers to teens to adults, with most events tailored to the entire family. The event is presented by the Family Equality Council in partnership with COLAGE: People With a Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender or Queer Parent. A number of prominent organizations and companies have signed on as sponsors, including the Vermont Ski Areas Association, Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, Dolphin Organics, Sugarbush Resort in Vermont, Edge Media Network, the Westin New York Grand Central, and others.
If you're unable to make Family Week this year, mark your calendar for 2014 - the dates for Family Week in Provincetown 2014 have already been announced: July 26 to August 2. Given the popularity of Provincetown, and the scarcity of rooms in summer high season, it's not a bad idea to start planning for next year as early as possible.
