The chic yet super-friendly world-class ski resort town of Whistler will again be the site of the fabulous Whistler WinterPRIDE celebration this year, with the dates set for February 3 through 10. This celebration that draws avid winter-sports enthusiasts from all over North America has long been one of the top gay ski weeks in the world. This year, the Vancouver Dyke March Festival Society (VDMFS) is collaborating with WinterPRIDE organizers to produce the Lesbian Ski/Snowboard Week activities.
The official host hotel at Whistler WinterPRIDE this year is the swanky and quite new Aava Whistler, a beautiful and contemporary lodge with easy access to the stunning slopes of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, themselves connected by the dramatic Peak to Peak Gondola. Whistler is just a two-hour drive north of bustling and beautiful Vancouver, which is home to BC's other huge Pride event each year, Vancouver Pride, in August.
