First Latin American Gay Men's Chorus Forms in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto VallartaThe popular gay resort community of Puerto Vallarta has formed a gay men's chorus - in fact, it became the first such choral group in Latin America to perform at GALA Choruses Festival this past summer in Denver. More than 50 singers make up the Puerto Vallarta Men's Chorus, which recently announced plans for a holiday concert at the striking Teatro Vallarta performance center. The concert, "Alegrķa!", takes place during the prime of Christmas season, on Wednesday, December 19. You can purchase tickets at the Teatro Vallarta website.

Puerto Vallarta, with its atmospheric, lively Zona Romantica neighborhood, has steadily evolved into one of the top tropical LGBT destinations in the world, offering great value, great food and nightlife (be sure to check out the fabulous gay disco, Club Manana), and a track record for low crime. It's also home to a number of excellent, gay-friendly hotels. A particular favorite, although it's not on the water but rather on a lush hillside just a 15-minute walk away from the gay beach, is Casa Cupula.

The Puerto Vallarta community has been so supportive of the Puerto Vallarta Gay Men’s Chorus and I count being a part of the PVMC Chorus with personal pride. It demonstrates the sort of leader Puerto Vallarta is becoming in the gay community and to the whole community of Expats and Mexican Nationals.
But we have not yet performed at any GALA Choral event. The group really just formed in May a couple months before the Denver GALA event.
PVMC just performed its Holiday concert to a packed house and great response. Some numbers are on YouTube – Search PVMC or Puerto Vallarta Men’s Chorus

Elroy, thank you for the clarification about not having yet performed at the GALA Chroruses festival – a misunderstanding on my part. Very glad to hear that the Puerto Vallarta Gay Men’s Chorus has formed and is doing so well, and I look forward to hearing about more concerts and events. Cheers, Andrew
