I've been reading about the many gay cruises available throughout the world over the coming year. My friend Desiree Sousa, the knowledgeable travel expert and owner of the GLBT online travel agency Out & About Travel, produces an excellent e-newsletter and blog that details cruises, group trips, ski weeks, and a great variety of packages and trips geared to gay and lesbian travelers. You can sign up to receive these e-mails at the Out & About homepage - they're always packed with great information, and you can also read about both group travel and also a variety of clubs, restaurants, hotels, and other gay-friendly businesses, mostly around Rhode Island, Cape Cod, and elsewhere in the Northeast, at Sousa's informative blog, Gay Travel Information. I also produced a profile about the company on my site a couple of years ago, which gives a nice overview of the service Providence, Rhode Island-based Sousa provides.
The latest cruises announced in Out & About are for late summer 2013 in Europe and include an Aug. 24-Sept. 3 tour on the Celebrity Silhouette that runs from Venice to Rome and calls in Croatia, Montenegro, and the Greek Islands; and a Sept. 4-Sept. 15 cruise from Amsterdam and Barcelona on the Celebrity Constellation, with stops in Bordeaux, Bilbao, La Coruna, Lisbon, Cadiz, and Ibiza. Both sounds pretty incredible, especially this time of year. Both of these cruises have been created by the legendary gay group-tour company, Atlantis Events.
Other Atlantis gay cruises that you can book through Out & About include a Mexican Riviera Halloween Cruise beginning on Oct. 28 of this year, a Caribbean cruise in early February 2013, an Auckland to Sydney Mardi Gras cruise set for late February to early March 2013, and a Singapore to Hong Kong sailing from late March to early April 2013. Out & About also can book the mid-February 2013 Mardi Gras cruise out of New Orleans with RSVP Vacations, and RSVP riverboat sailings in mid-summer 2013 between Budapest and Prague.
