It's not too surprising that Canada's largest Pride parades take place in the cities most famous for their sizable gay scenes: Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. The next biggest Pride Parade takes place in one of the most scenic coastal cities in the country, the capital of Nova Scotia, Halifax. As part of my effort to provide a quick preview article on each of the major Pride festivals in Canada each year, I've recently written a short article on Halifax Gay Pride, which takes place in less than two weeks, with the parade and festival on Saturday, July 28.
Note, however, that a number of events related to Halifax Pride take place during the 10 days or so before, including the outstanding Queer Acts Theatre Festival, held from July 19 through July 22 and featuring a number of provocative works.
