Up for a Paso Robles Wine Country Getaway in June? Check out Hotel Cheval's Pride Package

The fast-growing city of Paso Robles, in northern San Luis Obispo County, has been gaining in popularity among foodies, wine connoisseurs, and nature lovers in recent years. This charming community with a population of about 30,000 is just 3.5 hours south of San Francisco, and about the same distance north of Los Angeles - an excellent midway point if you're planning a drive between these two cities. During the month of June, when many cities in California are holding their Gay Pride festivals, the stylish and sophisticated Hotel Cheval, right in downtown Paso Robles, is offering a Sunday-through-Thursday Pride Package. The deal includes one night's accommodation, a bottle of champagne, a 60-minute couples massage, and all of the hotel's other notable perks, such as Continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and twice-daily housekeeping. Downtown Paso Robles has a number of stellar restaurants (I'm a fan of Bistro Laurent, in particular), and the area's vineyards are producing some outstanding wines, with especially notable zinfandels and syrahs.
