Hotels in Los Angeles and Zurich Unveil Enticing Gay Pride Packages

Thursday May 28, 2009
June is the big season for Gay Pride events - more than 50 cities around the world hold Pride rallies, parades, and festivals during this busy month in which the Stonewall Riots occurred in 1969 in New York City, thus sparking the today's Gay Rights Movement. If you're planning to travel afar to attend a Pride celebration, think about booking your room ASAP.

Compare rates and shop for hotel deals during Gay Pride celebrations around the world.

Here's a look at a few hotels out there that have announced special packages or rates related to Gay Pride events:

In Zurich, the recently re-opened and completely refurbished (to a tune of $400 million) Dolder Grand is offering a special EuroPride Package (representing a 28% savings) during EuroPride 2009 (valid June 5th through June 8th) - it includes a number of amenities and extras, including free Internet access, Swiss chocolates, late checkout, and shuttle-bus transport to downtown, where the EuroPride festivities are taking place.

In West Hollywood, a couple of different hotels have unveiled great deals during Los Angeles Gay Pride - Christopher Street West. The swanky new Andaz West Hollywood (which opened in January 2009) has partnered with Christopher Street West to offer VIP "Be Proud" package that includes three nights accommodation (June 12th to June 15th), a wine-cheese-hors d'oeuvres reception featuring the creations of Michelin Star chef Sebastien Archambault, valet parking, breakfast each morning, and a variety of in-room amenities. Single rates start at $692.

Another stellar hotel along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip, the Mondrian Los Angeles, is offering its own L.A. Pride Package. With rates starting at $295 per night, the deal includes two welcome cocktails, a daily spa credit of up to $100, preferred reservations at the Mondrian's uber-hip Asia de Cuba restaurant, and free parking. This deal is good throughout the entire month of June (cite the booking code PKSTIM when making your reservation).
