Great Chicago Neighborhoods: A Photo Gallery of Lakeview and Andersonville
There aren't many cities anywhere, much less in the United States, with such an astounding variety of dynaimc, mixed-use neighborhoods than Chicago. For the sake of covering the gay scene, I always spend a good bit of any visit to the city around Lakeview and nearby Andersonville, the two neighborhoods on the North Side that have the greatest concentration of LGBT-flavored bars, restaurants, shops, and so on. And with that in mind, I've created a gallery dedicated to these two lively neighborhoods, and I'll be adding additional photos in the coming days.
But these are truly just two of a whole panoply of cool areas to explore in Chicago, and down the road I'll post some additional galleries on this site of some of the other areas of the city I recenty had a chance to wander around - namely Bucktown and Wicker Park (two of my all-time favorite places to while away a Sunday), the Loop (of course), and Oak Park (Frank Lloyd Wright's old stomping ground). In the meantime, here's my guide to Gay Chicago, as well as a preview of the upcoming Chicago Gay Pride celebration later this month.
