British Columbia's GLBT Community Celebrates Vancouver Gay Pride This Weekend

Monday July 30, 2007

Few cities in the world enjoy a more scenic setting than Vancouver, the largest metropolis in British Columbia; photo courtesy of Tourism VancouverLike Sydney, Hong Kong, and San Francisco, the picturesque city of Vancouver is one of those places that inspires instant awe from visitors. It's a stunning metropolis, surrounded by water and verdant mountains, and it's also home to one of the most vibrant gay communities in North America. This weekend, Vancouver celebrates its 29th Annual Gay Pride Festival - it's the largest such event in British Columbia. Of course, beyond the good fun of Pride, there's an entire city of hip restaurants, enticing museums, snazzy boutique hotels, and lively gay clubs and lounges to explore - and that's true any time of year.

Here's my preview of Vancouver's Gay Pride celebration. For general information on the city's gay scene, check out Gay Vancouver Online.
