A Reader Asks for Gay Travel Advice on Planning a Summer Trip to Costa Rica
One of the many plans I have for this site over the coming months is to occasionally feature reader letters, and my answers to the travel-related questions posed therein. Not long ago, for instance, I received a note from a reader curious about the gay scene in Costa Rica, and how best to plan a trip there. Here's my advice to her, which includes links to several of the places mentioned in my response. Costa Rica is, in fact, a wonderful summer destination - if you don't mind getting wet (yes, it's the rainy season) and aren't necessarily looking for lots of social interaction around the pool of gay accommodations. Occupancy is fairly low in summer and even into early fall, but this also means that many of Costa Rica's top gay properties, such as the beautiful Big Ruby's Resort in Quepos, offer great rates during these relatively quite periods.
