A Great Place to Stay in Gay Charleston - the Market Pavilion Hotel

Sunday March 18, 2007
The sumptuous Market Pavilion Hotel, one of Charleston's most gay-friendly - and luxurious - lodging options, photo courtesy of the Market Pavilion HotelIt always feels a little strange to me to write about I place I've just been, Charleston, while in the middle of a trip to somewhere radically different, in this case China. I've just written a review of one of Charleston's loveliest and most gay-friendly lodging options, the Market Pavilion Hotel. And with Charleston's famed Spoleto Festival coming up in a couple of weeks, it's a great time to be thinking about this refined, quintessentially Old South city.

Keep mind, however, that you'll soon find articles on my site about my current travels. At this moment, I'm sitting in the guest lounge at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing - Financial Street, about to head out to tour the vaunted Forbidden City. I just arrived here from several days checking out the ever-growing gay scene in Hong Kong, and later in the week I'll be spending a few days in Shanghai. So stay tuned, if you're interested in China, which is rapidly becoming a top destination among gay travelers.
